XR Adventures in Culture & History
Program Overview
This program offers a unique experience for engineering undergraduates to immerse themselves in Tunisian culture and history while exploring the intersection of digital technologies, culture, and arts.
The program specifically explores the use of AR/VR technologies to reconstruct archaeological and historical sites in the region.
Through workshops, seminars, site visits, and hands-on projects, participants will gain practical experience in creating immersive digital experiences while contributing to the preservation and promotion of the region’s rich cultural heritage.
Program Objectives
Explore the intersection of digital technologies, culture, and arts, focusing on the utilization of AR/VR technologies in the preservation and reconstruction of archaeological and historical sites in the Tunisian region.
Develop practical skills in AR/VR technologies, including software tools and techniques used for site reconstruction and virtual representation.
Engage in hands-on projects to apply AR/VR technologies to reconstruct selected archaeological sites, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Collaborate with peers from diverse backgrounds to develop innovative approaches to digital heritage preservation, fostering teamwork and cross-cultural understanding.
Cultivate a deeper appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Tunisia and the links between Tunisia and its larger mediterranean neighborhood.
